Dear Walk NOW 2008 Participant,

After months of hard work to organize Walk NOW 2008, many potential participants have indicated that their time this summer and fall will be taken up with political campaigns and other issues, making it difficult for them to be actively involved in the Walk.  However, they have told us they are willing to give a donation to our Michigan NOW Foundation.

At the last meeting of the Walk Committee, we decided to convert our Michigan NOW Foundation event to a Virtual Walk rather than an actual one.  Instead of walking at Kensington Metro Park, we are encouraging people to take a walk through their virtual communities and e-books to raise funds for the Michigan NOW Foundation.  Our fundraising goals have not changed.  You can still form a team or just set a personal fundraising goal.  We are preparing a letter you can use to help you with your goal, but face-to-face contact or personal notes are always to best.

For those of you who have already registered and would like a refund, let us know by contacting Diane Russell at russell89@sbcglobal.net and we will process your request.  However, we hope that you will consider the registration fee as part of your personal goal and continue to work to raise money for the Michigan NOW Foundation.  Fundraising deadline is September 7, 2008.
